In Chinese medicine, the Lung reminds us that life is a rhythm of receiving and releasing… and I’m learning that again in real time. This week marked a year since losing my dad. I took time off of work to reflect and release. If you're going through grief, you're not alone.

Howdy folks, the Small Intestine teaches us discernment: the ability to separate what nourishes us from what depletes us.
Just as it physically separates nutrients from waste, energetically it asks:
✨ What deserves my energy?
✨ What aligns with my values?
✨ What am I ready to release?
Preventative medicine isn't only about what we eat or how we exercise. It's also about cultivating the wisdom to choose what supports our health, peace, and vitality before imbalance takes root.

This Heart Season, protect your Fire by choosing what truly nourishes you. ❤️🌵

❤️‍🔥 Summer in Traditional Chinese Medicine is known as Heart Season, the time of the Fire Element.
This is the season of joy, connection, warmth, and outward energy. The Heart governs not only circulation, but also sleep, emotional balance, mental clarity, and our sense of inner peace.

But in the Imperial Valley, where summer heat can become extreme, the Fire element can become excessive. This often shows up as restlessness, irritability, poor sleep, anxiety, brain fog, and feeling “wired but tired.”

This carousel breaks down a few common Heart patterns seen in summer, along with simple acupuncture points that help support balance during the hottest months of the year.

❤️🔥 Welcome to Heart Season.
