Recently, we saw real commpassion in action: showing up, listening, and praying.

Platform Church came on-site with blessing bags for kids and adults, and the joy on the children’s faces said everything. 💙

This community is an old motel converted into a safe haven for more than 90 families, and every hallway holds a story. At ECTLC, a faith-based nonprofit in San Diego County, the work centers on breaking the cycle of homelessness through housing, recovery, and education. Platform Church showed up with that same heart for people, saying it this way: “We prioritize people by believing in the God-given gifts and callings within, equipping them for a life on purpose, and platforming them to be the light of the world.”

They split into two groups, covered the upper and lower levels, and knocked door to door with one simple question: “Would you like prayer?”

Most families said yes. Not because life is easy, but because hope matters when life is heavy. Prayer became a doorway to connection, comfort, and dignity.

The afternoon ended with the single men gathered together in group prayer, standing shoulder to shoulder, carrying burdens out loud and not carrying them alone.

Platform Church didn’t just visit. They brought peace into rooms that needed it, and that kind of presence changes lives.

Today, we honor Juneteenth, a day that commemorates freedom, resilience, and the ongoing pursuit of equality.

At ECTLC, we recognize that freedom is more than a historical milestone. It is the ability to live with dignity, safety, stability, and hope for the future. Every person deserves access to opportunities that allow them to thrive.

As we reflect on the significance of Juneteenth, we reaffirm our commitment to serving our community with compassion and respect, ensuring that men, women and children experiencing homelessness are seen, valued, and supported on their journey toward independence.

Together, we can help create a future where dignity, freedom, and opportunity are within reach for everyone.

We are overflowing with gratitude to the Sycuan Band of the Kumeyaay Nation for selecting ECTLC as a beneficiary of the 2026 Sycuan Cup Charity Golf Tournament and for the incredible $25,000 check presentation. What an honor to be celebrated alongside other outstanding nonprofits serving our region.

This generous support helps power our mission to break the cycle of homelessness through housing, recovery, and education, and it strengthens the hope and healing happening at ECTLC every day.
