Heres a scam someone tried to pull on us today.

I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to inform you that your payment has been mailed via FedEx courier and is expected to be delivered to your address today.

I apologize for not reaching out sooner. I recently underwent surgery and have been focused on rest and recovery.

At the moment, I am experiencing some difficulty with the woodcarver regarding payment, as he is unable to accept checks. This has caused a delay in the delivery of the plaques. Since the awards are needed by the projected deadline, I would like to clarify the payment details below:

The check mailed to you is in the amount of $3,530.

From this amount, please deduct the full payment for the engraving, along with an additional $50 as a tip/inconvenience fee. The woodcarver has agreed to provide you with an invoice for your records.

I kindly ask for your assistance in forwarding the remaining balance directly to the woodcarver so he can release the plaques immediately. Once payment is received, the plaques will be shipped to you via expedited delivery and should arrive within 2–3 days. Additionally, the woodcarver will include some extra items purchased with the remaining balance.
