Washington just placed an $8.3M bet on VTOL, and it's great news for Jetoptera. 🛬
The FAA recently broke ground on V-PAR — a new $8.3 million research facility dedicated entirely to VTOL aircraft. It's one of several significant moves the FAA has made recently toward modernizing aviation regulation for the VTOL era.
Our CEO Andrei Evulet shared his thoughts about these developments and how they benefit Jetoptera on our Wefunder page. Read more here:

We're glad to see the U.S. government invest in advancing our industry!

We recently completed a full-scale thruster test at AeroTEC's facility in Moses Lake, Washington. Some people compare our bladeless thruster to a Dyson fan, which visually is not far off. But design wise, conceptually and operationally, the Fluidic Propulsive System® (FPS) is on a different level entirely. Use of ejectors in Aviation predates Dyson by decades, and the FPS is a type of bladeless thruster augmentor on steroids.
In the video, our CEO is standing 100 feet downstream of this 250 lbf class thruster and the airflow is strong enough to dry his hair! While personal grooming is a nice side effect, this additive manufactured thruster also generates enough thrust to lift an aircraft off the ground.

The video shows the additive manufactured rear thruster of the J-500, which shares its design with the front thruster of the J-2000, our two-seat VTOL aircraft targeted for introduction in 2027. What you see in the video — a large mass of air moving at speed — is a direct representation of the impressive thrust our system generates.
And we can vector thrust this in less than 5 seconds to 90 degrees…and back.
You can fuel our commercial progress and be part of our story by investing through @ Wefunder. We have limited space left in the round. See the link in the comments.

We’re in the homestretch.
$3.66M+ has been committed by 860+ investors, and we’re less than $100K from the round’s target. 📈
With $22M invested in R&D, $6.1M in commercial and defense revenue to date, and 189 patents protecting the Fluidic Propulsive System®, we're now moving from proven technology into commercial ex*****on.
Our J-500 cargo drone is under development, our J-2000 passenger aircraft is targeting first flight in 2027, and this August we're competing at Wright-Patterson AFB in the DARPA Lift Challenge for a $2.5M grand prize.
To everyone who has already invested: thank you for fueling this progress.
To everyone on the sidelines, this is a strong moment to back the future of aviation. We’re on the cusp of some major breakthroughs, and every dollar raised pushes our commercial prototypes closer to flight.

Over the past six months, we've been working toward one of the most competitive drone challenges in the U.S; the DARPA Lift Challenge. We completed all required milestones, sent our application in May, updates at the beginning of June and have been officially invited to compete as part of the first wave of selected teams. 🎉
The Lift Challenge received more than 480 applications and 72 were invited in this first tranche. Jetoptera's Project Pegasus is one of them.
Pegasus is designed with the goal to meet or exceed the payload-to-weight ratio DARPA is evaluating by carrying at least 110 lbs of payload on the Fluidic Propulsive System® (FPS®) powered aircraft that weighs under 55 lbs including fuel, and with a control system that responds 10x faster than conventional multi-copters.
The competition takes place August 2-9, 2026 in Dayton, Ohio, with $6.5 million in prizes including the $2.5 million grand prize.
