The new 2025 Food Pyramid is here... and honestly? It's complicated. 🤷♀️
Let me break it down for you:
✨ THE WINS:
→ More whole foods & less processed junk
→ Protein at every meal (yes!)
→ Fiber finally getting the spotlight it deserves
😬 THE ISSUES:
→ Still pretty high in saturated fat which not everyone
→ Super expensive to follow (hello $7 organic berries and $1 milllion red meat)
→ They removed ALL alcohol guidance and encouraged drinking socially? Yes, I want to party with Dr. Oz?
But here's my take as someone with 10 years in this field:
The pyramid doesn't know YOUR body. It doesn't know:
• Your food sensitivities
• Your health conditions
• Your budget
• Your lifestyle
• What actually makes you FEEL good
One-size-fits-all nutrition? That's not it.
Your body is unique. Your nutrition should be too.

🌟 Balancing Business and Wellness 🌟

We seriously get a bad rap for no reason. If you want an incredibly boring, structured meal plan or to count calories or weigh your food there's someone out there for you but it is not me.

Today is a day to reject diet culture and celebrate the joy of food. We focus on body acceptance, respect, and diversity, which are core values of Well Fed Wellness. As a Functional Nutritionist and human being I've seen the harm diets can do (both mentally and physically), even "therapeutic" ones undertaken with good intentions.

Today is Well Fed Wellness' one-year anniversary/birthday! It's been amazing spending a year building this clinic and solidifying a practice that only came about after an unexpected layoff and some soul-searching. It's turned into the most amazing outlet to really integrate functional nutrition with health at every size care I believe wholeheartedly in while utilizing all of the tools and tips I've collected through 10+ years of making nutrition studies my lifeblood.
I'm so grateful to the community I've been honored to build and be a part of, not just clients but fellow practitioners and people who nourish others physically and mentally. So thanks for being here and supporting the journey. We're going to go celebrate with a good meal!

Through my own health journey I’ve been that person intrigued by shiny new diets only to “fail” miserably and keep rinsing and repeating the cycle of misery. I’ve used healing practices to learn how to trust my body again, eat with abundance, and incorporate therapeutic nutrition, lifestyle habits, and positive psychology to ditch the endless dieting cycle. I believe in the same for you so started Well Fed Wellness to act as a guide to get you to where you want to be: trusting in your body again and on the way to feeling better.

If we haven’t met before I’m passionate about all things nutrition and food and especially making healthy food choices delicious without restriction or diet dogma.
I believe everyone deserves to be well fed and well nourished on their way to optimal health. Nutrition isn’t about what we can restrict or eliminate, rather it is about abundance. Going deeper, it’s also about how we eat, how we live, and how we can help move you along the path towards your goals.
