Let’s talk about something that doesn’t get talked about enough… libido in midlife.
Because for so many people, the shift can feel sudden, confusing, and honestly… a little isolating.
It’s easy to assume it’s “just hormones.”
It’s not.
In our latest MiDOViA podcast episode, we sit down with Sarah Berg, MD FACOG MSCP, board-certified OB-GYN and Certified Menopause Practitioner, to unpack what’s actually happening in the body and why desire can change during menopause.
This is a real, honest conversation that replaces shame with clarity.
We talk about:
• Why s*x can become uncomfortable and what’s happening biologically
• What genitourinary syndrome of menopause (GSM) really is and why it matters
• The pain-tension cycle and why it doesn’t just “go away” on its own
• How pelvic floor physical therapy can be a game changer
• Where treatments like vaginal estrogen and testosterone fit (and where they don’t)
• And the piece that often gets overlooked… the mental load, exhaustion, and why desire doesn’t thrive in survival mode
Perhaps most importantly, we talk about starting the conversation, because too many people are navigating this silently or being dismissed when they do speak up.
This episode is direct, informative, and exactly the kind of conversation we need more of.

We often talk about menopause symptoms like hot flashes or sleep disruption, but another important conversation is emerging....neurodiversity and menopause.
Many women with ADHD or autism go undiagnosed for decades. They build systems, routines, and coping strategies that help them succeed in work and life. Then midlife arrives, hormones shift, and suddenly those strategies don’t work the same way.
Women describe feeling scattered, overwhelmed, forgetful, or like their brain has suddenly “changed the rules.”
For some, it is the first time things begin to make sense.
It is a powerful reminder that midlife is not just about symptoms. It can also be a time of understanding our brains in an entirely new way.
We explore this conversation in the latest episode of The MiDOViA Menopause Podcast. Take a listen.
And hey… we have recorded a few other fun conversations coming soon.

What if menopause isn’t the end of something but the beginning of your clearest, most powerful self? We recently sat down with . Mindy Pelz, best-selling author of Age Like a Girl to explore how declining estrogen rewires the brain and why that shift can upgrade focus, confidence, and purpose. Instead of treating symptoms like flaws, Mindy shows how depression, rage, anxiety, and brain fog are signals pointing to a life that needs new boundaries, better fuel, and deeper connection.
Her newly released book, Age Like a Girl, redefines what it means to grow older as a woman. Rooted in the latest science and rich in personal story, the book challenges outdated narratives about menopause and aging offering instead a roadmap for awakening.
Dr. Mindy shows women how to use the neurochemical shifts of midlife as a launchpad for purpose, leadership, and bold reinvention.
This was a fabulous conversation with so many bold takeaways.
