If someone tells you the financial statements are accurate but the bank statements are not reconciled this is a red flag! Also, if you are not the one reconciling the bank statements each month ask to see the reconciliation. You will learn so much from reviewing it each month. This is one of the best ways to detect and prevent fraud!
