Effective immediately, horses will no longer be accepted for entry as Oklahoma-Bred unless the accreditation process has been fully completed and the horse's registration papers have been officially stamped as Oklahoma-Bred.
As a courtesy, the Oklahoma Horse Racing Commission has previously allowed entries to be taken on horses that were in a pending status (papers not yet stamped, forms incomplete, fees unpaid, etc.). This exception was intended only for occasional situations where an accreditation requirement had been inadvertently overlooked.
However, the number of horses being entered without completing the Oklahoma-Bred accreditation process has increased to a level that can no longer be accommodated. As a result, the Commission will now be enforcing the existing rule requiring that a horse be fully accredited and have Oklahoma-Bred papers stamped prior to entry.
Owners and trainers should verify that all Oklahoma-Bred accreditation requirements have been completed and that the horse's registration papers have been stamped prior to entering.
