This is just a test. Seriously.

I never inked anything like this, so I made a test copy to get an idea of what I'll need to do on the final. I had to test inking techniques, my rulers and devices, the non-repro blue, and to see if it can scan properly with this paper I'm using.

And all of this inking took an hour.

I'm debating setting up a camera when I work on this, but I'm worried about being performative when I ink it, not precise.

Anyway, I just got some new hardware. Maybe because I'm getting older, my eyes are changing, but I think it's because I'm trying to save my back, I just got these new magnifying lenses.

The piece shown was started in Dec 2023, and the plan was to just knock it out over a week. Nearly three years later and it's still isn't done.

I got the glasses so I can start inking it. I'll explain my process when it's done, but after all the work on these pencils I realized I needed these to help and save myself.

I used them while working on another piece that's just a little too small, and it helped.

So while I can't zoom in on a computer while drawing this stuff, I'm adapting in my own way, lol!
