There are varients of anxiety just like viruses. Most people have never heard of anxious attachment. Its an attachment stemming from anxiety and not based upon love, but rather its predicated upon fear.
People with anxious attachment are usually needy. They are anxious and have low self-esteem. They want to be close with others but are afraid that people don't want to be with them. As a child, their parents probably were inconsistent, didn't validate their feelings enough and limited their creative thinking process.
Outside of the five ways listed people that struggle with anxious attachment also suppress their true feelings for fear of their partners response and also need constant proof and reassuring of their partners love and devotion.

Anxiety comes in many forms and fashions. Nowadays people run straight to the doctor and get on anxiety medications to help. However, anxiety meds sometimes have negative long term effects. I often encourage my clients to do exposure therapy first before getting on medications. What is exposure therapy you might ask?
Exposure therapy is a psychological treatment that was developed to help people confront their fears. When people are fearful of something, they tend to avoid the feared objects, activities or situations. Although this avoidance might help reduce feelings of fear in the short term, over the long term it can make the fear become even worse. In such situations, a therapist or psychologist might recommend a program of exposure therapy in order to help break the pattern of avoidance and fear. In this form of therapy, the clinician creates a safe environment or presents a safe way in which to “expose” individuals to the things they fear and avoid. The exposure to the feared objects, activities or situations in a safe environment helps reduce fear and decrease avoidance.
Exposure therapy has been scientifically demonstrated to be a helpful treatment or treatment component for a range of problems, including:
• Phobias
• Panic Disorder
• Social Anxiety Disorder
• Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder
• Posttraumatic Stress Disorder
• Generalized Anxiety Disorder
So before running to the doctor talk to a clinician about exposure therapy.
