IntegroRecovery Clinic

Integro was recently featured in a local article talking about how Integro was started, challenges along the way of bulding your own clinic from the ground up, plans for the future and more.
An interesting piece was discussing creating a business model to align with your values, while also providing as much access and care as possible, and how that can often be a challenging environment in healthcare too.
Integro exists to bring a holisitic, integrated model to an otherwise fractured traditional health care system.

What can I do about my bipolar disorder?
It’s not just mood swings. Bipolar disorder affects your energy, sleep, focus, and how your brain regulates everything.
If you’ve been diagnosed, or think you might have it, here are real, medically-sound steps you can take to feel more stable:
1. Learn your “early warning signs.”
Do you start needing less sleep before a mood spike?
Does spending or risk-taking show up before a crash?
Tracking your own early signs gives you power.
Keep a log of sleep, mood, and energy daily for 2–3 weeks. It’s the most useful info you can bring to your provider.
2. Get consistent sleep, every night.
Even one night of disrupted sleep can trigger a hypomanic or depressive episode.
Set a sleep-wake routine and protect it like medication.
Going to bed and waking at the same time, even on weekends, matters more than you think.
3. Don’t skip medications, even when you feel good.
Feeling “normal” doesn’t mean the disorder is gone, it means the treatment is working.
Work with a psychiatric provider to find the right medication strategy for your version of bipolar (I, II, cyclothymia, or otherwise).
There is no one-size-fits-all, but there are options that work.
4. Avoid self-medicating during mood swings.
Alcohol, w**d, or stimulants can destabilize brain chemistry fast.
Even caffeine or energy drinks can worsen symptoms during certain phases.
If you’re reaching for something just to feel steady, that’s a sign your brain needs support, not numbing.
5. Work with someone who knows bipolar inside out.
Not every provider is trained in mood spectrum disorders.
You need someone who understands mixed states, rapid cycling, medication timing, and how to monitor for subtle shifts.
Don’t settle for “just watch and wait.”
