Been another crazy week and haven't taken the time to post, so here we go.
Thursday - we got the transmission out of the van. We installed the flywheel to the motor, then installed the transmission to the engine to be ready to install back in van.
Today - we dove in head first to install the motor/trans as one piece back in the van. Had no idea if it would fit or how i was going to do it, but we did. It would have been alot easier with another person or maybe 2, but with some wood and a ratchet strap we shoe horned it in, was way easier than I figured it would be, and very thankful for that. Then the hard part. Had to line up all the motor mount bolts, which wasn't that easy, but we finally got them in. Then bolted the trans down, hooked the drive shaft up, torque converter, starter and the flex plate shield. Think everything under the van is now completed less the new fuel tank.
I need to clean then paint the accessory brackets and then can start final install of the rest of the motor. There are also alot of access panels that need to be bolted back on as well.
Stay tuned, hoping to wrap this up in the next few days and then off to the next project, finishing up the paint job on the mustang.
