We would like to thank or friend Senator Veronica Klinefelt for her help in securing funding for Eastpointe Firefighters! It is always humbling and encouraging knowing there are good people who prioritize labor unions in Lansing. Thank you Veronica!

This was a very lean budget year, but I was able to secure some badly needed infrastructure improvements and firefighter equipment.

I am proud to have worked with Matt Sahr and the MPFFU to secure $130,000 for the City of Eastpointe firefighters, Roseville Community Schools to secure $800,000 for Science Lab updates, and Clintondale Community Schools to secure $1,000,000 for much needed flooding repairs.

This year’s process was mainly focused on safeguarding important services in the wake of federal cuts.

I will share more of my thoughts on the budget process in the days to come.

This morning at 0336 hours, Eastpointe Firefighters responded to a reported structure fire in the 22400 block of Piper. Units arrived on scene to find a working fire with heavy involvement in the Alpha/Delta corner. No one was home at the time, and the fire was brought under control. No injuries and the fire remains under investigation.

Your Eastpointe firefighters responded to the 2100 block of Firwood yesterday at 1622 hours for a garage fire. Upon arrival the duty crew encountered a heavily involved garage. We were able to contain most of the damage to the garage. The cause is currently under investigation. No injuries were reported!
