Last week we talked about Small Crabgrass… now meet its fuzzy cousin: Large Crabgrass!
While both spread in summer lawns, Large Crabgrass is easier to spot because it has hairy leaves and stems, unlike the smoother texture of Small Crabgrass.
Watch for:
• Noticeable hairs on leaves and stems
• Wider blades and sprawling growth
• Seedheads with 3–5 spikes
Like Small Crabgrass, this summer annual loves thin turf and warm temperatures

This weeks w**d is Small Crabgrass, also known as Smooth Crabgrass!
This summer annual germinates in the spring, thrives in hot weather, and dies with frost. For identification, look for
• Light green leaves with smooth edges
• Low-growing, spreading habit
• Seedheads with 3–5 finger-like spikes
