Had the first day, of our first summer cohort form Brave Space with Escape Ministries !!! We had some great conversations, can't wait to see what we tackle together. Not all people are pictured. :)

May I share a story that helped shape me today? I was working In youth minsitry about at the time (2021) I was an intern. I noticed that some students were easily missed in a crowd, but had incredible gifts. I asked our pastor if I could create a series where we spotlighted students. He said "yes". Little did I know, that the closer I got to their stories, the more I would see how mentorship could unlock dreams and power they were already carrying inside. This photo is a special one for me. Because this student was a leader and creative, but she was quiet. Once we gave her a stage and a platform, she shined like the star she always was. And she designed these incredible hats we are wearing! This was one of the first moments where I could see that my extreme extrovertedness, paired with me curiosity and patience could be used in a way to help others.
Mentorship can really help shape not just the student, but the teacher. Thank YOU Brianna for being apart of my story. 's success today is partially here because of your voice 5 years ago.
