BELVEDERE CASINO BURNED DOWN

Structure Fire at Ferry and Belvedere Under Investigation
Charlevoix, MI — October 23, 2025

At approximately 3:15 a.m., troopers from the Michigan State Police observed a fully engulfed structure fire at the Belvedere Club "Casino," building located in the 200 block of Ferry Avenue.
Charlevoix Township Fire Department and Lake Charlevoix Fire Department responded to the scene. Charlevoix Township Fire Department extinguished the fire. The building was unoccupied at the time of the fire and had been closed for the season. The
"Casino" is typically used for Belvedere Club gatherings and events during the summer months.

There were no reported injuries. Arson is suspected, and a 44-year-old Charlevoix Township man has been arrested in connection with the incident. The case remains active and under investigation.

Chief Thorp stated that the building was a complete loss.
