So it's been just over a year since I left the prosecutor's office and a few weeks ago (I told you I rarely get on here!) I had my first trial as a defense attorney.
After a 2-day, extremely contentious trial, where day 2 was heavily stacked against my client (the judge made rulings that were just so clearly against the state of the law), the jury was out for 56 minutes and returned a verdict of NOT GUILTY!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't even begin to explain the weight of responsibility where an innocent person trusts you with their life and freedom. I was so relieved that my client was able to walk out of the courtroom with all of this behind him.
