With the help of his self-published memoir, Double Crossed, and speaking engagements, George aims to raise awareness about mental health, while also working to end the stigma within the Black community.
His memoir details his triumphant story of growing up in Richmond, Virginia, to becoming a pro basketball player to building multiple successful businesses to quickly experiencing life-changing events – starting with career ending injuries and the betrayal of his brothers. In efforts to overcome his newly found battle with depression and anxiety, George turned to therapy which led him to begin journaling, along with attending weekly hot yoga sessions and breathing classes.
