She shows up with dedication, heart, and a deep commitment to the community she serves through ISLA.
This month, Mia graduates and steps boldly into her next chapter, pursuing a career in Dental Mechanics.

Mia ha sido una incorporación extraordinaria a nuestro equipo. Tiene una gran dedicación, corazón y un profundo compromiso con la comunidad a la que sirve a través de ISLA. Mia se gradúa y da un paso firme hacia su próximo capítulo, siguiendo una carrera en Mecánica Dental.

This past weekend, our Board of Directors gathered for ISLA's annual retreat — two days rooted in community, reflection, and bold strategy. Together, we deepened our commitment to amplifying impact and strengthening the story of who we are: the only solely Latine-led, community-based educational space at the intersection of Spanish language and Latin American culture in North Carolina. Grateful to Bahby Banks, Dr. Erin Stephens, and for guiding powerful conversations on storytelking ,data, and impact. And to our incredible board — thank you for your trust, your leadership, and your belief in what's possible for our children, families, and community. NC is growing — bilingual, beautiful, and ready. We're building the infrastructure to meet that future.

Este fin de semana pasado, nuestra Junta Directiva se reunió para el retiro anual de ISLA — dos días arraigados en comunidad, reflexión y estrategias.
Juntos, profundizamos nuestro compromiso de amplificar el impacto y fortalecer la historia de quiénes somos: el único espacio educativo comunitario liderado exclusivamente por personas Latinas en la intersección del idioma español y la cultura latinoamericana en Carolina del Norte.
Agradecidos con Bahby Banks, la Dra. Erin Stephens y Pillar Consulting RTP por guiar conversaciones poderosas sobre narrativa, datos e impacto.
Y a nuestra increíble junta — gracias por su confianza, su liderazgo y su fe en lo que es posible para nuestros niños, familias y comunidad.
Carolina del Norte está creciendo — bilingüe, hermosa y estamos listos/as. Estamos construyendo la infraestructura para encontrarnos con ese futuro.
