NABJ-Raleigh Durham

NABJ-Raleigh Durham was pleased to hear some of the great efforts underway right now to support HBCUs during April's General Body Meeting. A special thank you to our speaker Dr. Shandra Jones with Self-Help Credit Union. She highlighted the important work she does with the HBCU Promise+ Center of Excellence. The center's holistic approach showed a deep level of care, commitment, and investment to HBCUs as well as the communities that surround them.

We also heard a recap of the NABJ Region III conference held in Montgomery, Alabama which included a talk from Bryan Stevenson, Founder and Executive Director of the Equal Justice Initiative and a visit to the National Memorial for Peace and Justice.

A time was had at our annual Holiday Mixer on Saturday night! Thanks to everyone who could join us to celebrate the season together! And a special thanks to Nerra and Chef Lex for hosting us! From our family to yours, Merry Christmas! 🎄
