Remembering Roy Tew
Dear Members and Friends,

It is with great sadness that I share the news that a beloved member of the Triangle Curling family, Roy Tew, passed away on Friday. Roy joined the club just after the 2018 Winter Olympics, and within a very short time, he became a constant presence as a volunteer, running many daytime group events and working on the ice crew.

Roy had a particular gift for running group events. Every time I overheard Roy welcoming a new group to the curling club, I couldn't help but smile. His thick southern accent and accompanying humor would instantly calm the nerves of any apprehensive new curler! Roy was a natural, and his kind spirit left a special mark on our club, our guests, and the world.

Roy's self-authored obituary is linked in comments. Roy's family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Friends Fighting Cancer, Inc., P.O. Box 2265, Dunn, NC 28335. Roy organized multiple charity events at Triangle Curling for this organization going back to 2019! Gifts from our members would mean a lot to them.
