Calling all students interested in clean energy, alternative fuels, communications, public relations, and MORE to apply for Triangle Clean Cities' (TCC) 2023 summer internship with the Clean Cities University Workforce Development Program (CCUWDP)!
TCC is looking for a creative Outreach and Communications Intern for the 2023 summer semester. This position is scheduled for 30 hours per week over a 14-week period, from early July – mid August. The intern will assist with our program’s digital presence and contribute to our strategic planning activities.
Triangle Clean Cities is a US Department of Energy-designated Clean Cities Coalition with the mission of advancing sustainable transportation solutions in the Triangle area of North Carolina. We work with a number of partners to achieve our goals and provide technical assistance and outreach support related to alternative fuels and advanced transportation technologies that reduce carbon emissions from the transportation sector. We are housed in the Urban Mobility and Transportation program area at TJCOG.
The Clean Cities internship will give students studying communications, public relations, business, marketing, engineering or environmental sciences, the opportunity to increase public awareness and expand the markets of advanced vehicle technologies, alternative fuels, and practices that reduce the consumption of petroleum. Students have participated in research, outreach activities, public education, fleet events, and a vast array of transportation-related environmental projects.
Internship dates: June 5 – August 18. Exact start/end dates determined by individual schedules.
Stipends range from $4,500 - $6,000 for the semester depending on academic classification and number of hours assigned.

The conference is planned as an in-person event at the Raleigh Convention Center in Raleigh, NC on August 14 - 16, 2023.
