We are saddened to learn of the death of our friend Gonzalo de Armas, affectionately known as Don Gonzalo. Our deepest condolences go to his beloved widow, Teresa Fernandez Rodriguez and their family.

We first met Don Gonzalo at Old Havana Sandwich Shop where he would come regularly for a traditional plate of rice, beans, pork and maduros with a glass of wine, finished off with a cafecito… por supuesto.

He quickly became more than a faithful guest… he was a beloved friend, full of good stories and warmth.

May you rest in peace, amigo. We raise a glass in your memory; you are never absent from our hearts.
