Faith leaders, health care advocates arrested while protesting GOP budget bill in Capitol 06/16/2025

We are so proud of our longtime collaborator Suvya Diaheema Carroll for courageously sharing her experience and raising her voice. Her message is a powerful call to action 💖🙏

In Suvya’s words:
“I just want y’all to take a minute and read this. Some of you know, and some of you don’t—but before you jump to conclusions, know that I was safe and well taken care of during this event. I’m sharing this because it’s time to start using your voice to advocate for what’s right and speak up for people who can’t always speak for themselves.

Right now, they’re trying to take away Medicaid and SNAP—critical support for people with disabilities and low-income families. If you have a friend or family member in that situation, please share this with them. If this bill passes, so many people are going to suffer even more than they already have.

Please read the article with an open mind and an open heart. This is something we need to talk about.”

It’s not too late! We can all still act:

1. Spread the word—share Suvya’s message far and wide.
2. Contact your senators and urge them to protect Medicaid and SNAP.

Let’s amplify voices like Suvya’s and stand together for equity, access, and care. 💪❤️
