"Looking for Luke" - A Short Documentary | MGH Clay Center for Young Healthy Minds 02/25/2018

***Content warning: the following contains language regarding su***de and mental illness that may be triggering***
In the past few months, the students of Duke NAMI, Peer for You, Asian Students Association (ASA) have been putting together a screening of “Looking for Luke,” which has been confirmed for Griffith Film Theater (in Bryan Center) on March 8 at 7:30pm.
The 20-minute documentary tells the story of Luke Tang, a Harvard sophomore who died by su***de three years ago. Produced by the Clay Center at MGH, the film follows his parents as they grapple with his depression as a mental illness. They've made it their mission to help other parents, particularly Asian parents, identify and understand the signs and signals of depression and other behavioral health disorders that can lead to su***de. The film hopes to extend that mission by raising awareness of depression as an illness and destigmatizing seeking help for mental health issues, two topics of incredible relevance and concern today at college campuses across the country.

The screening at Griffith will be open to the entire Duke community, including undergraduates and grad students. The film will be followed by small group discussions.
