Imaginal Mycelium: A Solarpunk Portal & Dreamscape ✨🌀
I’ve been dreaming of this space for a long time. My first installation—real, rooted, and alive. Imagined it over and over. Built it four different times. Through hot days, heavy rain, and early mornings, my dad and I kept going—and it went up.
This is just the beginning. I’ll keep building on this vision and creating spaces for dreaming, healing, and reimagining what’s possible.
Deep gratitude to everyone who helped bring this to life:
for being there every step of the way.
for dropping everything to help me build version four in a week.
, , and kynita for pulling it all together with Goldie.
, , , , —thank you for showing up, lifting, drilling, scheming and grounding.
Huge thank you to my workshop leaders:
, , , — you all are amazing and truly made the space one of reflection, imagination, and dreaming through action.
And to —thank you for the space to do this work and be in community with Black artists reimagining environmental justice. Honored to be part of this fellowship.
And thank you for providing this space to foster relationships with the land and community in Durham
This dome is just one seed. There’s more to come 🌱

🌿✨ Solar Sankofa will be on display at The Carrboro ArtsCenter until April 24th with the Down to Earth group exhibition about climate change, sustainability, and environmental stewardship through art! Check for more info!
Solar Sankofa reflects the past and manifests the future. 🌱 The skyline is the Durham I grew up with—one side upright, the other reversed—rooted in history yet shifting. Articles layered in the back highlight environmental injustices, especially around food equity. At the center is the future I dream of: sustainable stewardship of the land, solarpunk innovation, and eco-futurist possibility. The blue body with dried moss and water remind us—water holds memory, nourishes us, and sustains all life. 💧🌾✨
I created this piece for the .as.method exhibition Uproot: BIPOC Visions of Our Food System in 2024.
If you read all the way down here keep reading cuz I’m plugging in two events happening this month!🔌🗓️🪩
