Kevin Aviance was raised in Richmond, VA then later moved to Washington, DC where he worked as a hair dressers and began his drag career. He has stated his influences being Grace Jones, Devo, and the punk scene. Kevin started as a club kid in the Washington, D.C., and South Beach, Miami, scenes.

Kevin later joined the House of Aviance, daughter to Mother Juan Aviance. Kevin has had cameos in Madonna’s 1994 Secret video, sampled by Beyonce in Pure/Honey, worked with Janet Jackson and Whitney Houston and his songs Din Da Da, Rhythm is My Bitch, Strut and more have reached #1 on the Billboard Dance Charts. In December 2016, Billboard Magazine ranked him as the 93rd most successful dance artist of all time.
