The Power of Love Over Knowledge
Knowledge makes arrogant, but love builds up.
1 Corinthians 8:1
The eternal God created this world and placed people on it for one reason: love. He desired to have a family He could love and Father forever. When He sent His Son, it was to teach and reveal His Kingdom ways for one reason: love. That perfect Son willingly sacrificed His life on the cross for one reason: love. Everything God does is done in love because He is love (John 3:16).
God made it clear in His Word that the family He is building for eternity would be built in love. “The Body of Christ will build itself in love” (Ephesians 4:16). Jesus commanded us to “love one another as I have loved you” (John 15:12). “Love never fails” (1 Corinthians 13:8).
However, the family of God, which should be known by its love, made a mistake. Instead of “pursuing love,” we began to pursue knowledge (1 Corinthians 14:1). We prioritized learning and studying above living out the love walk. Even Bible study was elevated above living a lifestyle of love. We did exactly what the Pharisees of Jesus’ time did—accumulating knowledge without obeying the command to love.
Jesus warned them: “You do not have the love of the Father in you” (John 5:42). The problem with prioritizing knowledge over love is simple: “Knowledge makes arrogant, but love builds up” (1 Corinthians 8:1). No wonder the church today is divided and ineffective. People are not drawn to the arrogance that knowledge alone produces. Until the church returns to Jesus’ mandate to “love as I have loved you” (John 13:34), we will remain salt that has lost its flavor.
Do we really need to “know more” to love, encourage, pray, or comfort others? I have decided to pursue a greater love walk from the heart, rather than adding more knowledge to my already well-taught mind. Knowledge or love? Which will you choose? I choose love, because love never fails.

Who’s Really in Charge
The Lord has established His throne in Heaven, and His Kingdom rules over all.
Psalm 103:19
Today, many hearts are troubled by uncertainty—about the future of our nation, our families, and our personal lives. The countless unknowns seem to multiply anxiety as we try to look down the road. But for those of us who follow Jesus, there is no need to waste a moment worrying about what lies ahead. Our peace isn’t rooted in controlling outcomes—we have very little control over future events anyway.
Our confidence rests in the eternal truth of God’s Word and in the One who declared, “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life” (John 14:6). Scripture assures us that God rules in the affairs of men (Daniel 4:17). Even when it seems like evil might triumph, God is working all things together for good (Romans 8:28). As today’s verse at the top reminds us: His Kingdom rules over all!
Those of us who have entrusted our lives and futures to the great I AM can rest, knowing that He who sits on the throne of heaven will have the final word. As Paul declared, “I know Whom I have believed, and I am persuaded that He is able to keep what I have committed to Him until that Day” (2 Timothy 1:12).
In Revelation 4:2, John writes, “I saw a throne in heaven, and One sitting on the throne.” What joy it brings to know that the One seated there is OUR FATHER! Though the news may suggest chaos reigns, His Word assures us that God is still calling the shots.
The Bible never promises that it will look like God is in control. This is where faith becomes essential. We must walk by faith, not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7). I don’t know what tomorrow holds, but I know who holds tomorrow. Abba is large and in charge, and that’s all I need to know.

Breaking Free From the Lies
“If you abide in my Word, you will know the truth and the truth will make you free.”
John 8:31-32
“You can’t do anything right.” “You’re not good enough.” “Nobody would want you.” “You’re such an idiot.” We’ve all heard these lies, whether spoken aloud by parents, teachers, coaches, friends, or even whispered by the enemy of our soul directly into our minds. They may have sounded different for each of us, but their effect is the same: these lies become chains, binding us to a false reality where we feel unworthy, unloved, or unforgivable.
Think about it. How many beautiful girls have looked in a mirror and seen only ugly staring back at them? How many fully capable men have felt utterly inadequate, believing they would never succeed in life? How many of God’s forgiven children still live under the weight of thinking they don’t measure up, forever worried that God is somehow disappointed in them? Even the most outrageous and absurd lies can easily shape our reality, leading us away from the truth, unless they are rooted out by God’s Word.
Jesus offers us the antidote to these lies: “Live in My truth, and that truth will make you free” (John 8:32). God’s Word is the ultimate, unchanging truth. Anything that contradicts His Word is a destructive lie from the enemy, sent to derail the life God intended for us to live. Since Satan never stops attacking truth, we must always remain vigilant and fight to stand firm in what God says.
We are far from helpless. God’s Word is the most powerful weapon we have. By hearing, believing, and holding fast to His Word, we can dismantle every lie and demolish the strongholds the enemy has built in our minds. The truth will always set us free and empower us to live as the beloved, forgiven, and victorious children of God that we truly are. Are you ready to get free today? Freedom is just a prayer away.
