This is one of the most iconic hikes in the US. It’s not long, but it will test your fear of heights! You need a permit but my friend and I had no problem getting one on Labor Day weekend with the daily lottery. Go to recreation.gov.

*The Mexican Spotted Owl lives along this trail and it’s important to be quiet so it doesn’t interfere with their communication.
