WHATTTT!!! I am happy as can be to say that this fish taped at 45.25 inches and is the new PB for my good buddy . I feel super fortunate to have been able to push him onto this fish...no literally...we pretty much poled right on top of him. When we locked eyes on this fish he was probably 15ft from the front of the boat and when he finally ate the fly Court had 1ft of fly line out the tip of his rod. He had to let the fish eat and then swim away from him in order to set the hook. A stip strike in this scenario wasn't an option! Fighting this fish on a 7wt meant we had to take our time and our patience paid off. After I snapped a few epic photos we sent the fish on her way. Just an absolutely wonderful time on the water.
