“Whatever you cannot place on the altar is an idol.”
“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”
Romans 12:1-2 NKJV

"If His death doesn't move you, His resurrection will not raise you."
“I want to know Christ and experience the mighty power that raised him from the dead. I want to suffer with him, sharing in his death, so that one way or another I will experience the resurrection from the dead!”
Philippians 3:10-11 NLT

“The more you understand God’s love the more you grieve for those who do not.”
Rom 9:2-3; My heart is filled with bitter sorrow and unending grief 3 for my people, my Jewish brothers and sisters. I would be willing to be forever cursed—cut off from Christ!—if that would save them.
…Great sorrow and continual grief in my heart. What insight we gain into the deepest chambers of Paul’s heart? How could someone who believes the rapturous divine reality of Romans 8 have great sorrow and perpetual grief? The answer is actually very simple, but it requires a deeper examination of God’s purposes of salvation. Salvation widens your capacity and measure to love. This truth will bring a cause and effect reality. Since our hearts have swollen with the joy of the Gospel, our hearts now have a greater awareness of what the unsaved are missing and what they are in danger of completely missing. Our sorrow and grief for the lost should be the effect of our salvation and gratitude in Christ (the cause).
