A tragic discovery was made over the weekend at the U.S. Postal Service distribution center in Allen Park, located at Oakwood Boulevard just off the Southfield Freeway, bordering Dearborn. Police say a 36-year-old employee was found dead inside the massive mail facility around 12:25 p.m. Saturday, November 8. Investigators believe the man had been trapped in a mail-handling machine for six to eight hours before fire crews were called to the scene. The incident was first reported by maintenance staff. Detectives said the death does not appear suspicious, and the case is being handled by U.S. Postal Service authorities. The victim’s wife reportedly called the center after realizing her husband hadn’t returned home from work. No further details have been released. 11/10/2025
