One of the things that modern mirrorless digital cameras allow us photographers to utilize is the silent shutter. It’s great when you want to be unobtrusive, like at a wedding, funeral, or in this case, a golf tournament. These photos are from the final match of the 2025 Northland Invitational.

I’ve decided to start a separate professional page for my photography. From here, folks can learn more about the style of work that I do, how you can purchase prints, or hire me. Of course, there’s still a fair amount of my work that I will keep doing as a volunteer, “loss leader,” or just for fun.

My son decided not to play tackle football this year, opting for flag football and fall season lacrosse instead. I was a little bummed, but I got to coach flag football and learn more about one of our newest Olympic sports (still not sure how I feel about that).

Anyway, the team he would have been on played in the 5th/6th grade local championship Saturday, so I decided to come out with my camera and document the event. Credit to Northwestern for their smart, disciplined playing style and coming out on top, but East definitely made a game of it. I was fortunate to be in great position to capture an “octopus arms” touchdown catch.
