Drinking water is so important!
A study published in 2008 looked at the effects of increased water consumption in overweight, dieting women in a randomized controlled study! The results revealed that higher water intake was associated with greater body weight and fat loss over time, although the exact mechanism was not identified.

Speaking of dietary guidelines (peep our last post)…. The MyPlate model from the 2015 Dietary Guidelines is still emphasized today and serves as an excellent visual resource to build a well-rounded meal without getting too much into the specifics. But we, like other critics, can not help but ask- where is the water? Remember that while all the food groups below are important, you should remember to be drinking water all day! After all, water is one of the 6 main nutrients our body needs to function properly.
