Matinee Musicale

Matinee Musicale is thrilled to announce its 2026-27 season! After a 35-year pause, we are returning to a five-concert line-up, beginning in October with a return engagement by the award-winning Balourdet Quartet. Then in November, we welcome the Chicago Symphony Orchestra Brass Quintet for their first-ever Duluth appearance.

The season continues in January with Duluth native and mezzo-soprano Georgia Jacobson and her husband baritone Ryan Wolfe. Then in February we host an encore concert by Ukrainian guitarist Marko Topchii. We conclude in April with the highly regarded Finnish pianist Juho Pohjonen.

Thank you to everyone who supported Matinee Musicale through Tempo With a Twist this past Sunday. Together we raised over $10,000 to support our concert series and educational program!

Musically, our afternoon offered Paris-style jazz from the Hawk Ridge Hot Club, a xylophone performance from UWS senior Jaewon Kim, and then Lian Okajangas on violin with Jim Pospisil on piano. Coupled with a delicious buffet and an exciting silent auction, our third annual Tempo With a Twist was a huge success!
