From time to time I get to work on something that touches my family history. This is a piece I had the privilege to make for my aunt. It is made from the gold jewelry of my grandparents. From rings to necklaces all melted into one. Family history came from blacksmithing and it continues. I even get to use tools that my great grandpa made and used.

This one is a men's silver cuff One thing had stuck out to me was a vision that God had shown the wearer about God wanting them say “yes” to Him no matter what the journey is. In praying about what to make for them and guidance from his wife, the picture of a boat wake marking the path into the unknown came to me. I left the silver unpolished and I darkened it to show the unknown. The path left behind is polished and shiny to represent the blessing God leaves behind us as we say “yes”. The one end is flat resembling the unending journey of life and the broken end to resemble that even though we are broken and may come from a broken past, it is still a part of our journey. I used this piece to document my process in making a silver cuff so keep an eye out for that soon.
