From our very first issue to where we are now—looking ahead to issue five—we’re revisiting a story that helped define NORTH from the start.

In our 2024 premiere issue, “Home on the Range,” Al Hodnik and his wife, Erika, set out to build something truly their own on the shores of Pokegama Lake. What began as a search for the perfect place turned into a deeply personal project—one rooted in community, craftsmanship, and a vision of home that feels both intentional and enduring.

It’s stories like theirs that continue to shape the spirit of NORTH.
