Hey Team RFD. February update is coming to you from The Polar plunge! Not only a fun annual tradition and fundraiser for Special Olympics, but also a great community activity.
Another great activity is attending a city council meeting. It should be a safe and welcoming space for everyone, including those with different viewpoints, but that has not been the case lately.
You can read more in the article and hear my challenge to the community to attend future meetings and help enforce community norms of civility, respect, and tolerance.

Spent some time today at the DAHA hockey tournament in Duluth Heights. Our community remains a constant even in uncertain and anxious moments. Family, friends, neighbors, and shared experiences. It was a good reminder that there is value in stepping away from the online world on occasion to spend time with each other.
Election Day is TOMORROW!!!
All elections are important, but on Tuesday your vote matters even more with just City Council and School Board on the ballot.

One of our highest priorities for Duluth is to grow our commercial tax base.
Growing our commercial tax base matters because it allows Duluth to be more independent and less reliant on state aid. LGA is currently 34% of the city's revenue, and it is completely dependent on politics at the state capitol.
Growing our commercial tax base provides the city with revenue that's not reliant on property tax increases on residents and existing businesses.
On November 4th, support City Councilors who are focused on growing our commercial tax base.
