Duluth Pack

We had a conversation with Rob Heard from the MN DNR at a planting site in the Nemadji State Forest, learning about how the DNR protects the young seedlings.

Seedlings are capped with a piece of paper called a bud cap to protect them from deer browse. Foresters will replace the bud caps once per year and check in on thr young trees till they are 8 years old.
