This is what I've been up to musically lately. This is the debut song for our new project Fat Earth - Band just in time for hockey playoff season. Here's a lyric video with us in a bathroom. The official video will be out this coming Monday!

We had an idea (not sure if it’s good or bad) that writing a hockey themed album would be fun.... Cuz ya know, this is Minnesota and we still remember the days when our moms tied our skates for us and put vaseline on our cheeks when it was really cold out.

So far we only have one song off that imaginary album, '4th Line Kind of Guy' and we'll be releasing it February 28. It's a song about a fighter, or goon if you will, who does the tough jobs but is really just a big lover on the inside. It’s also for anyone who works hard and knows what it’s like when life is a grind.

Well, who’s in the band? We’re not quite sure…Cory Coffman (guitar) has been the primary songwriter and organizer so far, which isn’t saying much. If anything, it’s a testament to the laziness of the rest of the band. In the music scene he is recognized mostly for being behind a drum set over the last 15 years. For a little while there he did his own solo guitar thing (performing and releasing songs under his own name) but he found it was sad, and kinda lame, and he missed playing with other people.

But now the time has come. Old childhood homies are getting together to form something bigger than themselves. Jimmy Waller slaps the bass, Eric Busker and Josh Muchler rip the guitar, and we’re still locking in the drummer, but we’ll get there. One day we’ll play live, but for now we’re having fun recording and creating music videos, and you should be a part of it.

The Earth ain’t flat, it’s Fat.
