The biggest snowstorm of the Winter (so far) is hitting the Northland as I type. It's days like these that we appreciate a warm, cozy, comfortable home the most!

With that said, it's super important to keep the venting for your furnace (as well as your natural gas meter) clear of snow. If snow piles up and covers your furnace or gas meter venting, your furnace can shut down or worse create a carbon monixide issue inside of your home. Save yourself a costly repair call by shoveling the area around your furnace vents & natural gas meter!

A day in the life of a Home Inspector in Duluth, MN - during the March 2024 blizzard...

I'm booked this week with home inspections (and cancelling due to weather isn't how I roll - I love this weather), so decided to drive my big old 4x4 truck to today's inspection - good thing, as there was about 12" of snow on the ground this morning! As seen in the above image, I encountered multiple people doing their morning commute on XC skis, going on the streets.

I did a fun inspection on a beautiful historic Duluth Hillside home. After getting back to my office, I walked down to the shore of Lake Superior and watched some surfers braving the waves on the big lake! We finished off the day with a great hike in Lester Park.

Winter is part of the deal here in Duluth, and we finally got some snow as this strange Winter wraps up!
