Law Enforcement Explorers had a treat this Wednesday! They got to experience a decision making simulator! It was a great way for the youth to experience how police officers interact with people in real-life situations, and how officers can de-escalate or escalate situations through their words.

Last month 20 youth met at John Deere where they kicked off the Engineering & Technology Exploring program! Participants designed and used a computer design program to create their own name plates, and they competed in a friendly competition creating a boat to carry pennies across a body of water. There were bonuses for time, size, and reduction in points for additional materials. Such a great lesson in design, testing, and redesign - all important in the engineering field!
