🌟 EMS Star of Life Awards Ceremony

Today, Ohio ACEP, the State Board of Emergency Medical, Fire, and Transportation Services, and the Ohio Department of Public Safety Division of Emergency Medical Services took great pleasure in presenting the EMS Star of Life Awards Ceremony. The EMS Star of Life Awards were created to recognize outstanding achievements and to honor those in Ohio’s EMS system whose accomplishments rise above the day-to-day excellence of that system.

Ohio ACEP President Dr. RJ Sontag presented the EMS Stars. During the ceremony, Dr. Thomas Charlton was honored with the Medical Director of the Year award for his leadership in emergency medicine. He has served as medical director for the Springfield Township Fire Department since 2016. He also serves as medical director of the Tri-State Peer Support Group, an organization that has expanded mental health resources for firefighters and EMS professionals across the region. He has also played a key role in developing and implementing community paramedicine within the Springfield Township Fire Department and across the region.
