This one needs a full on post because Six was incredible! An 80 minute rock concert centered around the six wives of Henry VIII. After laughing, crying, and cheering our heads off, we spent thirty minutes driving home discussing the themes in the show—basically be a badass woman and OWN IT. Could not have wished for a better message to share with my daughter and my own badass rockstar wife.

Nine mile run tonight in below freezing temps. Not a brag. This sucked. And I didn’t want to do it. Here’s why I did…

I keep promises to MYSELF.

I’m training for a 50K in May. Shoutout to for challenging me to an “oh sh*t” goal this year. This is a physical fitness goal that makes you think, “oh sh*t”! It’s definitely attainable, but not without some serious discipline and training. For me that was a 50K. My first ultramarathon.

You always need a WHY to accomplish hard things. I’ve had a lot of WHYS in achieving some of the goals I’ve set in life. But there’s one that is more important than all the others…

ME.

It took 40 years and a lot of heartache to realize that. But I finally got to a place where I loved ME enough to know that I am my biggest reason.

I won’t ever let ME down.

And so after a 10 hour day of operating, an evening of meetings, and an exhausted body, I looked at myself in the mirror and said, “Why am I doing this?!” And the answer was easy…

I keep the promises I make to ME.

Because I love ME.
