This is a big win for our family.

I never compare Jackson to other kids, his age. I felt myself slipping into that mindset and couple of years ago, because it is natural to notice other kids the same age. These days, we stay in our own lane, and we remember that our journey, his journey, is just that, and we will embrace it!

Jackson turned 4 on July 1 and he has never been interested in any type of toy car unless he could throw it down or chew on it.

For the last 4 years he has been fixated on the same (1) toy, his personal collection of board books (that has been his focus daily for hours for the last 6 months), or his swing set/ water table.

Lately, he has started to explore and play with different toys, even within the same 20-30 minute period. This is huge! A transition between toys and task in the past has been a huge obstacle, but this recent change has been a big milestone for him and we are elated!

You may not know, but many with Autism have strict daily routines and any variation of that routine can cause a happy day to turn into complete chaos!

Celebrating today, celebrating our little ray of sunshine Jackson, and praying that he continues to be happy, healthy, and thriving!
