Knotty Pine Design

One of my favorite parts of a room refresh? Shopping the house first. đź‘€
This dresser in my client’s son’s room was packed with treasures that had slowly collected and been forgotten over time. A little chaotic? Maybe. Full of potential? Absolutely.
I extracted a few pieces for styling elsewhere—a bowling pin, a V***e Cliquot tin, a fez hat, and all those quirky little finds that make a home feel personal.
Try as I might, I never found a spot for the bowling pin, but the promo tin and fez sure came in handy! The rest is a mix of Knotty Pine Design finds plus books and bits plucked from elsewhere in the home. What do you think, did we score a strike or a spare? ✨🎳
Proof that the right nightstand can completely elevate a bedroom ✨
We recently added this Mother of Pearl nightstand to a client’s bedroom refresh, and it might be my favorite detail in the room. The texture, the light reflection, the subtle iridescence… it’s one of those pieces that looks even better in person. BONUS: it’s functional storage too.

A little before + after magic👇
This refresh was all about helping my client step into a new chapter; letting go of the “hodgepodge of an old life” and creating a space that actually feels like ✨hers✨. We focused on the living room, dining room, and hallway, layering in personality (and some seriously good Facebook Marketplace finds 👏).
The long, narrow living room definitely gave us a design challenge, but honestly… it might be one of my favorite transformations. Proof that a tricky layout just needs the right perspective.
This is just the beginning though! There’s so much more to show from this home. I cannot wait to share what we did with her vintage camera collection 📸 More coming soon…
…Until I spotted these preserved butterflies tucked between the random knick-knacks 🦋⬇️
Proof that you usually need to push past the ordinary for the best thrift finds.
These delicate little beauties were just $2.99 and $3.99 (!!) vs. the normal $50–$125 at retail.
Offbeat mixed media pieces like this are an easy way to bring texture, curiosity, and a little bit of wonder into any space — a home, business or short-term rental.
If you love the hunt but don’t always have time to search every shelf, let .design do it! We’ll scour shelves near and far for unexpected pieces that make your space feel layered, intentional, and just a bit special.
