In 2025, the General Assembly established a joint special committee to discuss the recent property tax reassessment executed by Tyler Technologies, which left wide gaps and financial strain in communities across the state. This process forced us to reflect on our state’s current benchmark tax system, and with HCR 150 we are making active steps to improve them.

Establishing the Statewide Property Assessment Working Group guarantees a continued effort towards correcting the troublesome results we all saw with the last reassessment, and ensures that confusion does not occur again for future Delawareans. I am grateful to Rep. Cyndie Romer for spearheading this initiative, and look forward to our work in this group together.

On Juneteenth, we honor the enduring struggle for freedom by recommitting ourselves to service, community & care for one another.

It was a privilege to spend the day alongside friends & our fellow Bellefonte Lions, helping our neighbors in need & being reminded that the strongest communities are built through compassion & shared responsibility.

It was wonderful to join the League of Women Voters of New Castle County for their Awards Luncheon & celebrate an organization that works every day to strengthen civic engagement & our democracy with Rep. Cyndie Romer & Rep. Mara Gorman.

Their commitment to engaging young voters was on full display through the inspiring 2026 Scholarship Award winners, whose stories made it clear that the next generation of leaders is ready to step forward & make a difference.
