Valentin Family Farm

Lots of new life on the farm. Took in four new cats and 20 chicks.
Happy 4th of July
š§·Okay, soā¦
In between Lolaās diaper changes, weāre trying to start a little you-pick section out hereā¦
š»
Weāve got sunflowers coming in⦠some herbs⦠some gourdsā¦
and then⦠inside the garage⦠thereās a wagonā¦
The wagon has millet seeds⦠that I havenāt plantedā¦
Theyāve been waiting for two monthsā¦
So, yeah⦠weāre doing great, weāre fine, everything is fine. š
Real life, our farm, is perfectly imperfect and totally ours! šš

šæ The Wagon.
Out in the yard, weāre dreaming up a little you-pick section š±
Sunflowers, herbs, gourds⦠maybe even millet.
Inside the garage?
Thereās a wagon.
And in that wagonā¦
Two full bags of millet seeds (and 1/2 bag of sunflower seeds) that I fully intended to plantā¦
about two months ago š
So yes, some things are growing beautifully outside.
And some things are still sitting in a wagon, waiting for me to catch up.
This is what it actually looks like to build something from scratch.
Not perfectly timed.
Not perfectly planned.
Just⦠doing what we can, when we can.
Millet is still on the list š¾
Right after I:
āļø clean the garage
āļø wrangle the animals
āļø keep Lolaās diaper on (donāt ask š)
Would you still come to a you-pick day knowing this is how it starts?

Lola is tinyā¦.and spicy! No biting, Lola.
One week with Lola⦠and sheās already finding her place š¾š
Last night, Lola decided it was time to meet everyone properly.
Cimba (the cat) was incredibly patientā¦
Koda (the chow) tolerated it⦠briefly š
And Lola?
She went all inātiny body, zero hesitationāuntil she realized not everyone appreciates a tail nip as a friendship gesture.
This is what I love about animalsā¦
They communicate clearly, they set boundaries, and they adjust.
And Lola is learning. Every single day.
It hasnāt been an easy week medically, and weāre still walking through some heavy thingsā¦
but moments like this remind me:
Sheās not just survivingāsheās living.
One week in⦠and sheās already part of the rhythm of this place š
Day 6 with Lola š¾š
Today was a big day for our tiny queen.
We had a vet visit with the amazing Dr. Madison Bajk to start looking into what might be going on with Lola. One of the possibilities weāre exploring is pituitary dwarfismāa rare condition that can affect growth, development, and even things like thirst and urination.
And speaking of thatā¦
this girl drinks water like she just crossed the desert š« š¦
Weāre keeping a close eye on her hydration and urine patterns so we can give the vet the best information possible.
The good news?
Sheās happy. Sheās playful. Sheās snuggly. And she snores like a tiny old man when she falls asleep on me š„¹
Weāre also starting to think aheadābecause whatever her diagnosis is, weāll meet her where she is. That could mean mobility support down the road (like a little wheelchair or cart), but for now, sheās still deciding if sheās fast or fancy.
Todayās highlights:
š¾ Met Roman & Ralphie
š¾ Decided Roman might be friend material
š¾ Supervised basketball chaos (Nugget & Cimba understood the assignment)
š¾ Considered joiningā¦then chose observation instead
š¾ Hydrated aggressively
š¾ Snored aggressively
She may be tiny, but she is running this entire farm.
Weāre just here to support the CEO.
Every animal that lives at the VFF rescue has their own storyā¦
Lolaās just happens to come with a little extra spice šā¤ļø

I loved watching Game of Thrones.
One of my favorite shirts says, āMother of Dragons.ā
I donāt realize I was manifesting all of this cuteness.
Lola, we love you! šā¤ļø
Day 3 and Lola has decided Max is officially her emotional support bulldog šš¾
She follows him everywhere, steals his space, and repays him with tiny kisses and pure chaos. Thankfully, Max is handling his new little shadow like a gentleman.
Big brother status: confirmed. š
Day 2 with Lola š¾š
Tiny dog. Big personality. Endless potty breaks. š
Sheās keeping us busy, keeping us laughing, and slowly learning that sheās safe here. Belly troubles and all, sheās still playful, spicy, and full of love.
Rescue is messy⦠and absolutely worth it. ā¤ļø
