Those in hot weather States year round need to be mindful not to take your pet in your car and leave it there in the heat. Leaving a/c is not a guarantee. The engine can shut down. For those of us living in seasonal States, while the hot summer is over, it's still important to not leave pet in car in direct sunlight. Park in a shaded spot. Keep windows open enough, but not to the point someone can break into car, steal it along with pet. Brutal Winters are not times to take your pets in car.
