Congratulations to the Caesar Rodney Support Association!

More than 80 custodians in the Caesar Rodney School District celebrated a major union victory this week when their school board approved a minimum 10% pay increase on the locally funded portion of their salaries for each of the next two years – enhancements made possible by the district’s first successful referendum in nearly a decade.

Those wage adjustments – combined with the district’s contributions to employee health, vision and dental care - now put CR at the top of Kent County’s best-paying school districts for custodians.

CRSA’s new pay raises also comes a month after the Caesar Rodney School Board signed a new contract with more than 1,000 teachers, specialists and paraprofessionals that places CR at the top of Kent County’s best paying traditional school districts for most classroom educators.

Thank you to the CR voters who voted to fund a major investment in our public schools and thank you to the CR School District for making sure that investment helps to attract and retain high-quality educators!

Thank you to the members of DSEA Retired who visited Legislative Hall this week to advocate for our students, our schools, and our communities!

Members of the statewide local that represents nearly 2,500 retired public educators met with state lawmakers and urged them to support legislation that will modernize Delaware’s antiquated and inequitable education funding formula, lower healthcare costs for working families, and deliver a cost-of-living increase for state pensioners.

Thank you DSEA Retired for once again proving our dedication to public education continues on even after our careers have come to an end.
